What is whatsapp new data policy, is privacy not safe anymore?

hatsApp is updating its privacy policy and user have to accept new term and conditions until 8 February. The new policy says about how user data can affect when it is used on a business platform with Facebook(its parents company)

Now many people are curious with these questions lets have a look --

1. What data will be shared with Facebook?

Phone number, service related information, information on how you interact with others, mobile device information, IP address and transaction data.

2. Will WhatsApp share your messages with Facebook?

No, WhatsApp policy towards chats will not change and it remains end-to-end encrypted no third party can see them.

WhatsApp said "The update does not change WhatsApp's data sharing practices with Facebook and does not impact how people communicate privately with friends or family... WhatsApp remains deeply committed to protecting people's privacy."

3. Is WhatsApp storing messages?

According to privacy policy once a message is delivered, it is deleted from the company data server. WhatsApp store message only in case when it cannot be delivered immediately and keep them for 30 days in server, trying to resend them. If undelivered even after 30 days, the message is deleted.

4. What if we don't want to accept new policy?

If you are not satisfied with the change you can delete your account and move on to other message service applications.

A lot of people are switching to signal app from WhatsApp.

Signal is also a free and end-to-end encrypted messaging app which is being popular day by day after WhatsApp new policy. WhatsApp is using Signal's protocol for its encryption. But Signal is not owned by any corporation.
